Currently Gmail is one of the popular email services, and the chances are you probably store your Emails, Calendars and Contacts all in Google. Why Google? It's been there for a long time, it's versatile, it's compatible with almost anything and it's free!

Likewise Apple devices are also very popular although not free most/some of us own at least one apple product.

Now, if you are someone who loves both Apple products and Google services, you want them to work together, perhaps alongside of iCloud. This is possible however; it takes a little more effort than simply logging in with a Google account.

Why keep things in sync? Well, it will keep you sane. Too often we tend to keep our digital life quite disorganized without being aware of it. With enough user accounts and passwords to remember these days it's frustrating to realize that there are certain steps we need to take in order for a product / service to work as intended.

This tutorial will take you step by step in order to sync your Google Email, Calendar, Notes and Contacts across all of your Apple devices.

(Remember to back up! I am not responsible for your data.)

This should also be working out of the box for your default calendar only. (the default calendar is simply named your "" address)
In order to get all your other calendars to sync you have to make sure the "sync select" is properly configured on Google. Please visit this link.

iOS does not allow you to sync Google contacts by default so this extra step is necessary.

1. Go to "Settings"

2. Go to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"

3. Go to "Add Account"

CardDAV 1 CardDAV 2 CardDAV 3

4. Add "Other"

5. Select "Add CardDAV Account"

CardDAV 4  CardDAV 5

6. Enter Google information.

- Enter account user name without ""

You are all set! Do exactly the same on your iPhone, iPod & iPad and they will all be in sync with Google Mail, Calendars, Contacts & Notes!

This has been very beneficial to me since everything is stored under one Google account. So whether I have my apple device or not I always have access to my email, calendar, contacts, notes via any computer, the beauty of it is that it's all the same data stored in one location but you are accessing it form various devices. Organized!
