Information Architecture: Keywords or Calls to Action?

Building a website information architecture (IA) from scratch is hard. It takes a lot of thought and vision. Not only is it of paramount importance to understand the purpose of the website very well, but also its limitations too (don’t throw in a shopping cart if we’re not building e-commerce pages, ya hooligan). And on top of all of that, the IA must be creatively molded into something that not only works on a practical level and makes senses, but also powerfully projects a message. And this all must be accomplished using just a couple of words for each item.

Creating Self Service Solutions for Tomorrow’s New Students

Tomorrow’s new students expect 24/7 self-service. They get it every day on the apps and websites they use. When was the last time you wondered the answer to something for more than 5 minutes? With Google and a smartphone, you don’t have to not know the answer for something… ever. See, students expect to be able to capture information at any time without having to make a phone call or write an email. Higher Ed websites that don’t have self-service functionality built-in will struggle to maintain student loyalty.
